Adele Delivers

Amy Lincoln & Anna Valdez

Welcome to Adele Delivers, where I deliver two of my favorite contemporary artists right to your inbox every Friday. Here’s to fostering a deeper connection with art, one artist at a time.

Amy Lincoln

This week I watched fireworks without my contacts in, turning the night sky into sparkling fractal flowers. This got me thinking about Amy Lincoln. Amy’s manicured painting style depicts the outdoors in a structured way that morphs clouds, rainbows, and waves into flashing monstrous entities set against vivid skies. See more of Amy’s work here.

Anna Valdez

I found myself thinking about Anna Valdez last week at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History because this oil painter started out as ... you guessed it, an anthropologist!

Anna's time on an Irish archaeological dig became the training ground where she mastered drawing, scaling, and uncovering cultural history through unearthed artifacts. Now, she applies these skills to paint objects from her life, creating oil paintings that express her identity and experiences. Also, take note of the pottery she crafts and integrates into her paintings. Learn more about Miss Anna Valdez here.

Thank you for being here! Enjoy your weekend. I’ll see you next Friday with more art.
