Darin Cooper & Knowledge Bennett

Did you miss me Friday? I missed you- I was locked out of my account but now we’re back on track. Here is last Friday’s edition of Adele Delivers.

Welcome to Adele Delivers, where I deliver two of my favorite contemporary artists right to your inbox every Friday. Here’s to fostering a deeper connection with art, one artist at a time.

Let's continue commemorating Black History Month and explore some more art by Black artists.

Darin Cooper

Darin Cooper makes art about Black Southern culture, specifically church, family, food, music, and the legacy of American slavery. Darin layers paint and wipes it away leaving complex marks like the tornadoed surface of Jupiter, the same agent of alchemy Dorothy faces on her journey to Oz. Just as animals and people wiz mid-air past Dorothy’s window, Darin’s art shows a surreal parade of symbols suspended in the eye of the storm telling the story of his life and honoring the culture that inspires his work - after all, there’s no place like home. Learn more about Darin here.

Knowledge Bennett

We've all seen Pop Art - Andy Warhol's iconic soup cans and Marilyn portraits are everywhere. Knowledge Bennett leverages this collective experience of Pop to address the topics that matter to him. Learn more about Knowledge here.

Thank you for reading and thank you for doing last week’s poll. I’ll continue to deliver artist links with the most up-to-date information.

Signing off with a declaration from Marcel Duchamp, “Taste is the enemy of art.” What do you think? XxA
