Natalie Savage & Laurence Winram
Welcome to Adele Delivers, where I deliver two of my favorite contemporary artists right to your inbox each Friday. Here’s to fostering a deeper connection with art, one artist at a time.
Natalie Savage
I tend to gravitate toward big, blocky, bright paintings of food or big displays of food in general. They bring me comfort, a realization I had when my family owned a restaurant. At the start of each service, we’d set heaping plates of butter on each table, which always made me feel safe. I’ve also always loved hanging out in grocery stores- even taking on a graveyard position at Kroger in college. Can’t we all use a cornucopia of comfort these days? Learn more about Natalie here.
Laurence Winram
Lawrence uses little dobs of honey to stick leaves to a tree. It reminds me of collecting fall leaves with my mom in downtown Frankfort. We would take them home and collage them or she would paint them gold and put them around the house. The act of noticing the leaves, comparing them, and arranging them is such a powerful way to connect with nature. Learn more about Laurence here.
