Paul Octavious & Dashiell Manley

“Be regular and orderly in your life like a bourgeois, so that you may be violent and original in your work.”

Welcome to Adele Delivers, where I deliver two of my favorite contemporary artists right to your inbox every Friday. Here’s to fostering a deeper connection with art, one artist at a time.

Paul Octavious

Paul Octavious is a photographer, digital artist, and art director known for his innovative community-focused art, most of all, his supper clubs centered around a single work of art. Learn more about Paul here.

Dashiell Manley

Using thick dabs of paint, Dashiell’s art shows what it feels like to consume the daily news cycle. In his words, "I initially — and still do — think of these paintings as counterpoints to the ideas presented in the news. I saw them as a kind of refuge from the chaos, from a lot of the terror I was meditating on as I created them." Learn more about Dashiell here.

Host a Cookbook Book Club this summer. Here’s everything you need to know.

Quote I’ve been pondering: “Be regular and orderly in your life like a bourgeois, so that you may be violent and original in your work.” -Gustave Flaubert via Tim Ferriss

Approach art like Paul Octavious. His favorite book is The War of Art, Break Through the Blocks & Win Your Inner Creative Battles, by Steven Pressfield

If the earth was flat and fish swam over the edge, where would they go?Trouter Space! No, but really, check out the latest from James Webb. I kid! But isn’t Naohiro Kimura’s “Mambo” magnificent?!
